The Obsolete Iron Car Club really puts on a
classy show. They had a no host cocktail hour when we picked up our
packets at the Peppermill. Then Saturday was a beautiful and relaxing day
at the Lazy 5 park in Sparks where we played games, (horseshoes & Dingle Balls,
too much fun), and we had the most wonderful catered barbeque lunch and then had
the evening free. Tim and I joined Al & Mary Rosario, Pete & Karen DeMaria, Ron
& Joann Berdi & Bob & Sally Tavares (from the Gold Coast Rods Car Club) for
dinner at the Red River Restaurant, across the street from the Peppermill, it
was too good, deep fried baked potatoes and yams, sounds strange, but oh my
goodness, you can't believe it. Sunday was the Poker run, they went to
Carson City and up to Virginia City as well. Tim and I missed the Poker
Run and spent the day with Tim's sister & brother-in-law instead. That
night was the wonderful banquet at the Peppermill where they actually had seven
of the winning cars in the banquet room. It was really very nice and
everyone had a great time. They had an auction and some other "games" as
well as a fabulous buffet dinner. After dinner they had an comedienne who
started off kind of rocky but got better as she went on. Monday morning it
was back to the Peppermill for yet another great meal, a full on buffet
breakfast and some goodbyes until next year. I must say, I think this one
may have just become my favorite show...
